Enveloped by a plush green blanket of trees, Kasauli, a tiny mountain town located in Himachal Pradesh is
an epitome of scenic beauty and picturesque
landscapes.
A hot cup of tea
for company and noisy raindrops thuddering outside room no 3, of Gian hotel has
made my trip to the hill station worthwhile. Not to forget, the brigade of monkeys
trying to find their way through the door grill and into the rooms.
Sunrise point, sunset point, man-ki point are some of the
tourist delights situated at ‘lower’ and ‘upper’ mall roads in Kasauli.
I was standing amidst clouds at the sunset point, last evening and watched the sun battling the many wondrous white balls in the multicoloured sky
that refused to settle down.
Puffs of grey and white changed to shades of blue
and then an orange-red hue.
The winds blew fiercely and as I struggled to bid
adieus to the setting sun hiding behind the thick white mask, two handsome
sniffer-dogs came and sat next to me. As we gazed together at the setting sun, engulfed
by the compassion of the Universe, I realised the profound love of ‘Mother
Nature’ that gives unconditionally to all its inhabitants.
The pleasant tail-waggers are local residents of this beautiful hilltown
and are serving an army officer at Kasauli. Soon, they were taken away by the
caretaker but the clouds, the cool breeze, the trees and the mountains were
enough to give me company for the next one hour.
This is a therapeutic destination you just cant afford to
miss. It will rejuvenate your mind and soul and you will move one step closer
to discovering your own self.
